Been a while since I’ve Updated this, oops! But just been so busy trying to get the assignments out the way so i can study for the exams. Only got one part of the assignment left to do then I can study for the exams, which I’ll probz end up failing as ive not left enough time to study! Going to try finish this assignment so I’m ready to start studying next week!

Well tried to start and complete my elective assignment yesterday and failed. Only managed to get just over 1000 words down in over 2 hours :O safe to say this is going to take a while. I had planned on getting up today and trying to do more of it but feel ill so it has to wait until tomorrow. Hope to have this one finished by the end of the week so i can move on to the integrated curriculum next week after placement!

Getting stressed out with the amount of work that has to be finished before end of March, plus the exams! I seem to be finishing one task and moving straight on to the next with no break in between. I had planned at the start to get most of the assignments out the way before march but I really cannot see that happening. Just finished the rme task that I was to do and now need to think about this proportion card we have to do for maths. Then it will be the 2 assignments inbetween placement before even thinking about moving on to study for the exams, that will b a night before thing again probz lol.

In our class today we were discussing us moving to the glasgow campus next year for our last year. Not only are the tutors unhappy to be moving but so are the students. We found out that the building all our tutors are in has no teaching classrooms so they need to walk 10 mins to a different building as well as us. I hope that the fire tonight at the uni stops us moving as i prefer travelling to jordanhill but i doubt that will happen:(.

Well today we got our narrative diaries back from our nursery placement. I was so glad to see that I had passed and didnt have to go through with the re-writing of the diaries. The nursery placement was really good as you got to see where children start at with their learning of all the different curricuar areas. When on placement it was really tiring but looking back it was a good experience to be a part of. Now that nursery placement has been passed its now all about the school placement after easter. Hopefully I’ll be able to pass that so I can move into fourth year with no resits! However I’m not looking forward to the amount of work we need to do on this placement!!!

So in my elective this week i got to use garage band again. When on placement last year my class were using garage band as part of their topic. They were each in bands and had to produce a single which they could release before going on ‘tour’. They used garage band to create the soundtrack before writing words and recording footage for their videos. The videos turned out very well and the school held an awards ceremony and each band received an award like they do on the tele. As i wasnt used to garage band i never really helped the groups much as they were much better at it than me.I was really impressed with the end result of each of the videos even though it was very hard work creating them.

Well after my surgery on friday i decided i would try go to uni today, after being stuck in house since sat afternoon. It was working out well hiding my horrible face from everyone until we had to sign in in the tombs. This meant we had to walk around and find our sign in sheets which wasnt good. I managed to stay for lesley and davids presentation but couldnt manage to stay on any longer as i felt sick. Thats wot happens when your jaw gets wired shut and you need to go on a liquid diet. Its been so hard to eat so ive been surviving on one cup of soup a day which i know isn’t good but is just sore and takes too long to eat more.

So its been a while since i posted anything but been so busy with placement, wow nursery is hard work having to play with toys all day :p When it comes to the paperwork however thats a different story. Having to fill out four diaries everyday took a lot of time and having to choose only one to hand in was hard. Anyway thats over and done with and so was our last day of presentations so time to relax and de-stress before uni starts again.

Well started my nursery placement this week….wow! I cant believe how different and tiring it is compared to school. Constantly being around children who are always wanting your attention and you to join them in their activities. It is really fun however when you are learning what they are building/making and imagining. I had a wee boy who had built a lego tower and said it was a fire house. Really interesting how their minds work!!!

Today in children, creativity and computers we were learning about “Blogs, bookmarks and collaboration”. I had never realised how popular blogs were and how schools use them. It was interesting to see different examples of how these could be used within schools to allow children to communicate and encourage others with their learning. My opinion of blogs were that people used them to write about their day and express feelings however now I know that they are used in schools to help teaching. The children are able to describe what they have learned, share this with others and encourage others. I look forward to seeing children completing their blogs when I am out on placement.
